Grand List Update 07-24-12

July 24, 2012

  • ActRaiser (SNES)
  • Aero The Acrobat (SNES)
  • Madden NFL ’94 (SNES)
  • NCAA Basketball (SNES)
  • NHL Stanely Cup (SNES)
  • PGA Tour Golf (SNES)
  • Sim City (SNES)
  • The Skins Game (SNES)
  • Waialae Country Club (SNES)
  • Williams Arcade Greatest Hits (SNES)

Aside from ActRaiser (which came with the box, instruction manual, and little poster thingy!) and Aero the Acrobat it’s all crap…cheap 99 cent crap.

What is notable, though, is that I now own more games for the SNES than any other console…as it should be.

    July 19, 2012

  • Battle Clash (SNES)
  • Metal Combat: Falcon’s Revenge (SNES)
  • Super NES Super Scope 6 (SNES)
  • Yoshi’s Cookie (SNES)

Yoshi’s Cookie was a game I rented from Ken’s Video dozens of times so it’s nice to know I never have to go back there again.

But more importantly — Battle Clash, Metal Combat: Falcon’s Revenge, and Super Scope 6 are all SNES games that require the Super Scope. I am now the proud owner of that bulky piece of bazooka shaped plastic that can only be used with CRT TVs.

  • Ballz 3D
  • Captain America and the Avengers
  • Instruments of Chaos Starring Young Indiana Jones
  • Terminator 2: Judgement Day

“Ballz is a killer 3-D fighting game. It’s an in-your-face all out fight to the finish with 8 unique characters and 8 bosses that punch, kick, club, slam, humiliate and fart on their opponents. Ballz even has an instant replay that shows you the damage from almost any angle. And with three times more special moves than those flat 2-D games, you’re going to be doing lots of damage. Our characters will even morph into other characters whenever you want. Ballz also has a bunch of weird sound effects and a wisecracking scoreboard. It’s the coolest *!#!@*#! fighting game on the shelf.”

    Ballz……. in-your-face!

  • Minor Upkeep

    June 16, 2012

I went through and fixed some issues I noticed — nothing too major. I added a few games that I missed for one reason or another and some small corrections. It’s all itemized on the list below.

  • Added “Tennis” (NES) to The Grand List.
  • Added “Deus Ex: Invisible War” (XBOX) to The Grand List.
  • Added “Excitebots: Trick Racing” (Wii) to The Grand List.
  • Corrected a label typo for “Vagrant Story” (PS1)
  • Corrected a label typo for “Twisted Metal 4” (PS1)
  • “Mario Party 6″(GCN) was incorrectly labeled as “Mario Party 7” and has been fixed. (The image was correct)
  • “Goof Troop” (SNES) has been renamed to “Disney’s Goof Troop” and alphabetized accordingly.
  • “Super Return Of the Jedi” (SNES) has been moved to the correct alphabetical location.
  • The image of “The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning” (DS) was incorrect and has been fixed.

  • Grand List Update 05-31-12

    May 31, 2012

  • Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick (Xbox)
  • Otogi: Myth of Demons (Xbox)
  • Spider-Man (Xbox)
  • X-Men Legends(Xbox)

Much to the chagrin of my one loyal reader, I have not made any worthwhile posts in some time. In an attempt to rectify my neglect, I have added a couple of pretty good games to the list.

Spider-Man and X-Men Legends are both apt titles to add only a few weeks after The Avengers released in theaters (even though both Spider-Man and X-Men are property of Fox for the time being — but that’s a story for a different blog post). I purchased Otogi because I liked the title and the box art, I used the same logic when I bought Deus Ex: Human Revolution so it’s a tried and true method of game selection. And finally, there is Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick, with Bruce freaking Campbell right on the cover, it was impossible to pass up.
